Regulon is a combined contraceptive preparation containing estrogen and gestagen. The preparation contains synthetic gestagen and estrogen components which are more active then natural sex hormones. The drug inhibits the process of ovulation, increases the viscosity of cervical mucous thus making it difficult for the sperm reach the uterine cavity. The drug is low dosed thus does not affect the carbohydrate and lipid metabolism and minimizing the possibility of side-effects.
Indications:
The drug is intended for use as oral contraceptive. But sometimes is used in treatment of:

- Premenstrual syndrome

Other precautions and contradictions of Regulon must be discussed with your health care provide before starting treatment. The drug belongs to FDA pregnancy category X thus must not be used during pregnancy.
The use of Regulon should be seized immediately if any of the following occur:
- Increasing intensity of headaches, acute vision impairment, If any suspicions for thrombosis occur.
- Acute increase in blood pressure, development of jaundice or hepatitis without jaundice, if generalized itching manifests, if epileptic convulsions occur.
- If a surgery will be taking place in less then 6 weeks after stopping the treatment with Regulon.
